Mocube gallery is proudly present you the latest works of Qi“Kang Jing (hereby as Kang)：Deep and quiet  ”. The exhibition starts from the 4th of August 2016 to the 5th of October 2016.

From Kang’s earliest solo project “Gift” to the exhibition today, through live installations, sculptures, videos and multimedia demonstrations; Kang has again and again discussed the questions between confrontation and the balance, as well as the realistic world and the world of imagination. Kang’s thinking towards the space and time could always be seen in his works, especially Kang’s ideas towards the realm of imagination. Kang believes that “Deep & Quiet” is the ultimate pursue of our soul, it’s a room for our souls to communicate deeper. So, how do we light up our epiphany in the real world? How do we open this “gate”? Kang believes that the key is to enter the realms of imagination. Therefore, the exhibition was just apart of Kang’s thoughts towards this question. 

The installation “Room” in the exhibition are two light bulbs swinging back and forth with the same pattern, just like two oculi search and overlook the entire exhibition room.

“The forest” has being used repeatedly in the recent years.  Kang choses not to only focus on one particular tree, but to look at the entire forest as a united symbol, and uses extremely heavy crumb to express the inner strength and the stuffiness of the forest.

In his performing art video “ The creation of a foot”, the modeling was just an excuse or a camouflage, the real focus was the relationship between manufacture and our nature, it’s a part of our imagination.
