Mocube is honoured to present the latest exhibition of artist Tao Damin “Sojourners” opening on Oct 14, 2023. Following his solo exhibition “Void Room” in 2018, this is Tao Damin’s second solo exhibition at Mocube. The exhibition will run until Nov 26, 2023.

Tao Damin’s recent artworks often focus on imaginary scenes and situations, and use non-narrative painting methods to express images and figures that are drifting from both inside and outside the reality. Tao’s works are dominated by a mixture of landscape-style natural objects and everyday things — temporary houses, outdoor environments such as real-life objects, trees, plants, and shells. It seems that some imagination of people’s dwelling is built into the scenes. The daily (natural) scenery and human images in these different views are integrated into the calm color levels and one-dimensional light shadow. In the end, a still-life painting technique is used to present a realistic-based landscape.
