Wednesday, September 4th Cloudy, High of 35°C
7:00 AM
Got up, took a shower, washed up, and had breakfast.
7:40 AM
Prepared a lunchbox and took the kid to school.
8:00 AM
In an alley near the school, I saw a violin in its case. Curiously, I asked the couple at the recycling point, and they said I could have it for fifteen yuan. I felt like I found a treasure, so I transferred the money via WeChat.
8:30 AM
Arrived at the studio. My cat (Captain), who has been with me for four years, greeted me at the door. I adopted him, and he's very attached to me. He stops circling and meowing around my feet as long as I give him a hug when I come in.
8:40 AM
Laid on the couch, daydreaming for a while, and then dozed off.
9:00 AM
The kettle played a shrill tune, waking me from my half-asleep state. The sound was like a water truck passing by.
9:10 AM
Found the raw Pu'er tea I bought last week. Took a few sips; it was very astringent, but it gave me an instant energy boost.
9:30 AM
Fully recharged and ready to start the workday.
12:20PM
Ate lunch while watching the movie The Thief.
1:00 PM
Took a 20-minute nap. The lady next door played a video in the hallway, and the theme song from Journey to the West startled me awake.
1:10 PM
Ground some coffee by hand and picked up the Diamond Sutra that was on my desk. I've read it many times, yet I still can’t recall much of its content—blaming my dullness. " They should develop a mind which does not abide in anything."
1:30 PM
Back to work.
2:10 PM
Took out the violin I unexpectedly acquired today and started playing with it, but one of the strings broke. Seeing the clearly yellowed marks on it, this violin must have been with its previous owner for many years.
5:00 PM
Left the studio
